AN UNSIGNED 4mm ZIMMER GALLERY-RIFLE, serial no. 11, German circa 1920, with heavy 26in. octagonal 'barrel', the front 8 1/2in. originally housing the Zimmer mechanism, now absent, tunnel fore-sight, dove-tail for rear-sight (absent), micro-adjustable pan-head peep-sight mounted to the top-tang, chequered walnut half-stock with Tyrolean cheek-piece and heavy Swiss-style heel-plate, splinter fore-end with moulded schnabel tip, complex finger-grooved trigger guard, double set triggers and swivels for sling
